Some of my lovelies have cut school everyday so far this week... well sort of. I'll get to that.
Did ya'll know that yesterday was a holiday??? nope me either. but it was, for some.
I was informed today that said students were deep in celebration of yesterday's date... go ahead google it. just the first 3 numbers of the date, I'll wait...

Yeah.... P*t smokers day out.... and my students were out "celebrating"
And escorted to school today by the police, since they couldn't be bothered calling out. Duh. (if you are out 3 days in a row without a call-out we have to report it as a missing persons report, therefore authorities were sent to their homes) again, duh....
Needless to say... they were not at all happy about their prompt return to school around noon today.. and the impending testing that will take place...
I couldn't make this stuff up... Am I the only one who did not know the significance of yesterday's date???
I feel so out of the loop!

I didn't know either. My husband is the one who told me. Although I'm not sure exactly how he knew. LOL.
Well DANG! I was off yesterday and I didn't even know it was a holiday!
I hope my boss doesn't think I took the day to 'celebrate'. LOL!!!!

First period I asked why so many were gone... Someone started giggling and I realized the date, but the kids who were gone aren't the type. So confusion was all around as to whether it was the date to celebrate.
Too funny...I've been working on a post about that particular "holiday" as well.
i admit i'm actually grateful i had no clue!
That's ridiculous! My husband would have gotten a kick out of that, though. Musicians...
