I had a great 4th of July weekend. It started off on Friday the 1st with a really fun comedy show that I went to with my parents and their friends. Holy cow I never laughed so much! The comedian decided to use us as his go-to audience fodder and it made it even more hysterical. The fun continued on Saturday (after work at my pt job) at Kelly's house with our good friends from Thailand (via India, via Russia... world travelers that they are) who are here staying with her while they get established here. (G is from the US, his wife N is from Russia and they have the cutest 18mt old Zoya, who calls me fe kika (or something like that!) and follows me around whenever I am there. The language differences (I won't say barriers, cause they aren't) make us laugh and learn at the same time. They have been here for a few weeks and I love our "new" Saturday night fireside chats. Their worldly expeditions are intriguing and so very interesting. I wish I could live their lives. They have been everywhere and experienced so many cultures and amazing things along the way. I hope they stay for awhile, I so enjoy their company. Sunday brought a day of half laziness in the morning/ half barbecue in the afternoon fun at an old friends house... with the Russians in tow. Monday was a day of sunning by my parents gorgeous pool, and then I was off to the nearby Marina for dinner and a spectacular fireworks show. It was the first time we went there and it will definitely be a repeat performance. It was a fun night of great food, a great band and awesome fireworks.
Summer school is going really well... I can't believe two weeks have already flown by. We went bowling today, which was really fun and we only had one small meltdown by B. I am having a really great time with these kids, they are such a great group. Only 3 weeks to go until I am off for an entire month! I won't know what to do with myself!
Oh, wait... I already have Broadway tickets for M@ry Poppins and other assorted B-day plans to keep me busy! I can't wait for the spontaneous days of doing nothing and everything with friends and family. Along with many lazy days spent at the beach and pool planned. Who am i kidding, it will go by so fast I'll be crying the back to school blues before I know it.
I hope you all are all enjoying the summer!!
Smooches!
