The Journey Begins......
With the terrible weather on the horizon, therefore not a great 4th for fireworks or bbq's, I decided what better to do than to start this. I have been considering the process of adoption for some time now, but with grad school and life in general I did not have the time to really jump in. About 2 months ago I started the research and have been actively looking for the "right" agency for me. Also during that time I decided to actually start talking about it. First to my parents, whom I was not sure would embrace the idea of me doing this as a single woman. I thought for sure they would look at it as my having "given up" on the possibility of finding "Mr. Right", which I haven't He's out there somewhere, and i'll find him eventually. I was stunned at their reaction of subtle excitement, many questions about the process, and my mother going as far as telling her friends about it and gaining her own knowledge and email addresses for me. Furthermore, I've started to tell my closest friends about my decision and their support and excitment have only proved to push mine over the top. I know it will be a long road, but I am so thrilled about it and hope those of you who are also working towards this goal will join me in my journey. Thanks for reading!!! Have a great 4th of July!!!

Kristen, You are starting an amazing journey and there are lots of other people (singles included) that are more than willing to support you. How exciting to discover in your heart that your child is/will be waiting for you in China!
Not flesh of my flesh, Nor bone of my bone,
But still miraculously my own.
Never forget for a single minute,
You didn't grow under my heart - but in it
