Congrats To Angelina & Pax

First it was the Bloodgoods adoption journey on TLC's The Baby Story, and now my agency makes news once again with very happy reports from Vietnam.

I chose AFTH as my adoption agency with Shannon's help, and couldn't be more satisfied.

Article from People Magazine: (click to view entire article)
The U.S.-based Adoptions From The Heart agency, which handled Pax's adoption, said in a statement that Jolie was given no preferential treatment when it came to the adoption, which the organization says was begun last summer in Vietnam.

"Contrary to earlier reports, her application was not fast-tracked," according to the statement from the suburban-Philadelphia-based agency.

While some in Vietnam who work in international adoptions suggested that Jolie made a donation to the Tam Binh orphanage – where Pax has lived since infancy – Adoptions From The Heart coordinator Heidi Gonzalez said that the actress "has neither made, nor promised to make any financial contributions" to the facility.

"As we do with all of our clients, Adoptions From The Heart celebrates the miracle of adoption, and wishes the Jolie-Pitt family much joy," added Gonzalez.

It's always nice to see celebrities in the news for something other than stupidity. Good for her for being such a positive influence. I wish her nothing but the best.

Hope you all had a great St. Patrick's Day!!!

I'm so glad you posted this as I had felt really misinformed! Pax is really cute too- hadn't seen a photo as I don't really follow the celebs lives...

Thanks for the update. I also felt uninformed. It shows me not to jump to conclusions.

I really like the new header. It is so pretty.

Enjoy your Sunday!

Beautiful banner.

Beautiful Pax.

I don't follow the celebs at all but am all about anyone who can put becoming a parent through adoption in a positive light.

I'm glad someone else posted something positive about Pax's adoption :)

I have been very surprised by all the negativity from our own adoption world - I just don't get it. He's a kid, he wants a mom - tada!

Pax is so cute I wonder if she picked his name or was it part of his original name or what does it stand for, reguardless It suits him. Happy St. Paddy's to you too.

I have tremendous respect for Angelina. I hear so many negative comments about her and her adoptions and it frustrates me. She is a multi-millionaire. She doesn't need to go to third world countries and seek aid, she doesn't need to offer financial support. For goodness sakes, she gave birth to her daughter Shiloh in a small clinic in a remote part of the world when she could have been in a posh Beverly Hills hospital. Thank you for posting this positive news! I wish them every happiness!

Way to go Angelina! I'm so happy for their family, Pax is adorable. I wonder why some adoptive parents are so cynical about celebs adopting? I say "so what?" if (not the case here) they get speedier adoptions, that's one child that's with their forever family faster. You'd think everyone would be thrilled instead of critical. I admire Angelina and Brad for the humanitarian work they've done and for opening their hearts to orphans.

I'm so glad you posted this, I hadn't seen his cute little face. I think it's wonderful and hopefully it draws some positive attention to so many children in need of a home.

Great post!

Awesome post. Angelina and Brad are cool and real for people that are so "entitled". I love what they stand for.

Hi! Found you through somebody with a Chinese daughter....I forget who all I visit. Our daughter is 4 and my blog name is pandapalooza, so I thought that I'd check out the Blogapalooza. Email me at panda-mom @ sbcglobal.net (no spaces, of course) and I'd love to be linked. Thanks!

And Shannon chose her agency because they had a singles spot open immediately!! =) Seriously though, even with the wait and (allover) lack of info, I've heard from many a happy, proud parent using them...and isn't that what it's all about?!
