Better things. To keep my mind off of the previous post.
I've decided it is time to plant some roots... I have been casually looking, but now that I KNOW I will have to redo the HS many times I have decided there is no better time than the present to buy a house. I have always been a renter... happy to be, because the home prices in my neck of the "metro area" woods are unbelievable. But as my nesting instincts creep in I have been longing for a homestead with an actual driveway and backyard in which to plant a swingset and grill. In my "singleton" years I have been more than happy with the "call the super" phrase anytime things are needing a fix, but the 3rd floor walkup, can't find a decent parking space days, are seemingly becoming an issue. So.
The last month, now that I am officially DTC (and in need of a new goal), I have been looking at homes and dealing with a mortgage rep (a great guy, with potential, and a dinner date on Sat!! Shhhh.. don't tell) I have officially found the HIL (House I Love) on paper anyway. And I've set up an appointment to go see it. It is a little further south.. add about 20 minutes to my 45 min commute... but is 5 min from my parents and is walking distance from Kelly's new house. Which, by the way, she has made mention of quitting her job to take care of her future little ones and MINE, so nothing added on to my commute is as important to me as having the most important people in my life right down the road, to spend my days with.
So even though it is VERY premature... I can't keep in the excitment of this new venture... ie.. the HIL. which I hope is as good in person as it is on paper. So here is the preview.. please wish for me that this is where my roots will begin!!
(and that the date goes well ...LOL)

Woohoo...big news!
At least a house would eat up plenty of time during the wait. I have to say it does for me. But, I wouldn't be without it!
Shopping for a home is SO MUCH FUN! Good luck - with the house and the guy!
Oh it is just adorable! It would certainly be a great
distraction ... painting, and decorating and gardening and cleaning and fixing ... you will LOVE it! Best wishes that it turns out well (the date AND the house!).
Cheers!
Oh my gosh! How exciting, the HYL (house you love) AND the dinner date! Best of luck, can't wait to read all about it.
Wow! What exciting news. I hope the house is all you expect! Keeping my fingers crossed for a great date, too! :)
You'll have to tell us how it goes!
HOW FREAKING COOL IS THAT!!!!! WOO HOO!!!! Now hurry up and buy that house so I can come help you paint :) After all, you've seen my hose before and after shots, I'm sure I could assist you with ANYTHING you want to fix up! lol....
CONGRATS!!!! (and I'll be expecting an email first thing Sunday morning ;)
I must admit that being a homeowner still terrifies me on a daily basis.... but I wouldn't have it any other way.
I've owned my house for 10 yrs and it's nice to know that it's all mine (well and the bank's too I guess) from the toilet paper on the roll to the living room couch to the shingles on the roof and back again.
Good luck with both your new adventures. :)
I'm wishing for roots for you! Buy that house and start your foundation.
WOW... best of luck in everything girl! House is really cute!!
(strangely, my word verification spells out pray in the first 4 letters.... kinda cool)
Exciting stuff :)
The house is adorable and I'm so excited for you and all of the possibilites that lie ahead. I hope that things take "root" soon... :o) Hope to hear more about Saturday night too! lol...
