A little bit less of me!

Diary of a dork...

That is the name change I'm considering for this blog. As each year passes and I get a little older, that is the descriptor that best describes my current status. So if I've intrigued you with my claim to dorky-ness here is a life update in the ever so fashionable bullet style!

  • Today was my "neighborhood community watch program" meeting. I went, as any good citizen should. I was also the ONLY one who attended...

  • I went back to school shopping today... as much as I don't look forward to getting up early, driving over an hour each way, and being responsible for the education of several "mis-understand" humans... I LOVE school supply shopping. It actually makes me giddy to be in the school supply aisles buying the stuff my kids will need to make it a successful school year. I drool over the choices of pens and pencils, notebooks, highlighters, new white-out, sticky notes and desk supplies. My desk calender is a major decision, and my prized possession. DO NOT ever think about writing on it, or getting it dirty, that completely ruins the essence of it. I'm going tomorrow to buy new bulletin board boarder. The fun never ends!!!

  • Again, as much as I'm loving this time off, the fact that school starts next week, Tuesday to be exact, is comforting. I will once again have a regular paycheck, thank god. The regular routine is a much needed necessity in my life. I thrive on routine. There are some days when I'm off that I just don't know what to do with myself, I get bored very quickly. I also like having different things to look forward to. I have a cruise booked for my first school vacation, and that can't come fast enough. Then you have the holidays, Ski week, spring break, and various other things that I long for throughout the year. Before I know it, I will be that much closer to Julia. wow, I haven't typed that name, or said it in such a long time... Julia... every day is one closer.

  • When it rains... it freakin pours. I was in quite the dating slump for a very long while. well, not anymore. I'm too old to be "juggling" romantic prospects. But alas, I find myself with THREE... just seeing it in print makes me shutter.... Mind you, I'm no "player"... But wouldn't you know it, as soon as I rekindle an old romance (albeit with caution) I am also in the early stages of communication with two other interesting men. I have no idea how to navigate this whole thing. I can't even consider dating more than one person at a time... So I'm trying to see if this "old romance" is anything worth continuing before really giving the other two a decent chance.... I'm really just totally confused over the whole thing... like I said, when it rains....

  • Have I mentioned how much I LOVE my new home. Seriously, I walk around in awe of what I have and how pretty it all is. I love the way I decorated this place, mostly my bathrooms ( I have an odd love of bathroom decor, and I have three, so it was like heaven to decorate all of them!) I love sitting in my new backyard (never had one before, on my own, that is), I love how close I am to my family. It makes the drive to work such a non-issue when your arriving at a place that just makes you smile.

  • I spent this past Monday up at Heather's , she actually let me tear apart and put back together her nursery. I can't tell you the amount of joy I get out of organizing things. I just hope I didn't over step my boundaries by putting things where I thought they should be. I know I can be a little annoying with my obsession of all things organized. I hope I didn't exhaust her too much. I only wish I had had more time to help her do more to get ready for the big day next week.

  • I really miss Mel & Stacy not blogging anymore. If your at least reading.... Smooches Girls, Love you and Miss you on this front!!!

  • Why is it you always wait until you have free time to schedule Dr.'s appt.'s. I've had 4 in the last week. Did I mention I'm on vacation... Those 4 have sparked numerous tests and procedures that I now need to schedule. Some of which will involve some hospital time, major life decisions, and anesthesia (some know how well that served me last time). Have I ever mentioned that being a girl with girly issues SUCKS... well it does. BIG. Thank god I've never been too attached, to the questionable parts anyway. These coming months should be "interesting" at best.

  • Tomorrow, somehow I got suckered into going into work to sign off on IEP's for new kids coming into the district. So I actually have to get up tomorrow and go to work for a couple of hours. I also had a small let-down of sorts on my current job front. I was "considering" taking a new job, an administrative job in the board of ed office, that took a lot of decision making and soul searching on my part to determine if I thought I was ready for this job. Well as my luck would have it, the job did not become available. It will at some point, but I feel a little let down as I prepared to change my "plan" and take the leap. So it's back to the classroom for now and my Administration goals will have to take a backseat for the moment. It will all come when the time is right. Right?

Well that's enough of my life for tonight... Did I stand up to my new title as Dork? I think it fits... I'm just saying...

You're gonna be awfully busy watching the neighborhood on your own!

Yeah, my school memories...oh, how I loved the smell of fresh mimeograph. I STILL think of that fondly :0)

Hey, I could screen your prospects. If I like them then run far and fast in the other direction. Remember, I'm a jackass magnet.

Hope everything goes well in the girly gig dept.

I have three things to say:

1. THANK YOU again... I can't say that enough.

2. DON'T HOLD OFF on the other two!!!!! They'll help you make the decision as to whether or not the rekindled one is working the way you want it to!!!!!

3. Sped.

I laughed aloud about your being the only meeting attendee. Proud of you! Love that you love your house. If I had the money I'd have you come here and make my house wonderful and organized! I guess I've...let myself go in that department... =) How can you not write on your desk calendar? So clean and clear and ready for doodling... Keep us updated on your health. Thinking of you.
