I was called today for the interview for the position I mentioned here.... It's for the Director of Special Services for a local school district. I didn't mention that when I sent my resume I didn't really expect a response. I have no Administrative experience as of yet. Yes, my knowledge of the position (I think), is good, but on paper... no experience. It's different when you apply for a position within your district... those people know you. I have a good reputation within my district, within the Special Education population. But to an outsider.... they only "know me" on paper. So to say I was excited when I got the phone call to be part of the first round interviews... is an understatement. BUT REMEMBER.... I would not take this job. I can't risk leaving my district, and leaving the possibility of the same job coming available next year in my district, during these trying times. It would not be a smart choice. Plus the pay compared to my district, is not worth the move... it would be nearly lateral. In my district it's a 50K plus raise.
But I am thrilled they called... and I will go on the interview for the experience.
So I just wanted to share my excitement, cause it certainly made my day!!!
PS... two weeks from today and I am on vacation!!!! woooowhoooooooooooooo!!!!!

AWESOME! That means if the same job became available in your district, they would likely see you as a great candidate!!! What a self-esteem booster. :)
You go girl!
That is great! I don't blame you for wanting to stay in Woodbridge. I feel the same way about getting a social work position. The interview will be excellent experience. Julie Bair's job??? I would love to report to you! :0)
