A little bit less of me!

3 weeks and counting....

Until I am officially on X-mas vacation!!!
And as a bonus... on a vacation "do-over" of sorts!
Since it rained on my last, I feel I deserve a redo.
as if I need a reason, Ha!

I will be spending X-mas in the happiest place on earth,
and in the sunshine, I soooo need the sunshine right now.

So today I put up some minimal decorations
and seriously anticipating this fun, different holiday.

On a different note... but with a tie in to the much needed happy place... I gave my official notice to work for a change in placement for next year. All I want to say about it is that it was the hardest thing I have ever done so far in my career, but it needs to happen. I'm still struggling with the part that feels like I'm giving up, but I'm also feeling somewhat hopeful that I will be able to find that thing that makes me feel like I'm making a difference. I need to feel that again. I'm hopeful and excited (sort of) of what the future holds..... till then.... it's still hard, and i'm not going to mention it again.

I'm counting the days until our break too! Actually the minutes! ;)

I know how hard it is to give notice at a job, especially one you are good at and one where you are valued. But it sounds like what lies ahead for you is a very good thing.

From ALL you've shared ... it is OBVIOUS you have poured your heart and soul into your students and have done the best you could. As an educator, I have come to realize we rarely can make a significant impact ... that role has already been filled, unfortunately in many instances, by their own parents. One can only work with those 'hard to serve' kids for so long before it starts to take it's toll. You have put your time in and you deserve a change ... don't feel guilty or like you've given up. You gave more, MUCH more than many others would ever consider.
Bon voyage ... you deserve that too!!!!!!

I agree with the above that you have poured your heart into your work and you should be very proud of yourself. I admire you deeply for all that you've tolerated in your teaching career. & I know that whatever the move holds, you will continue to be the great educator that you are.

...my word verification is: holyt

Woot!!! On the Vacay!!! That is so exciting! Can't wait to see the pictures! :o)

I know it is hard to leave, especially the kids. I truly believe that to be a good teacher you have to know your limits. From hearing your stories I am always in awe of you and your work. I think that maybe this is a sign that you are needed else where. You are not giving up! You have given, and now it's time to learn and grow and give to someone else who also needs you.

This will be a good thing! :o) I can't wait to follow along on the next chapter!

You teach late into the month, too. Shannon S. gets out late like that. Must be an East Coast thing? We are done on the 18th.

I am very excited for you to take your trip! I would love to do something like that for Christmas sometime. We are going to go to Vegas for my birthday this month, though.

You are not giving up. You have already given what you had to offer to that. In your next position, you will tap into a new well of inspiration and drive.

:-)
