Where does the time go...

I had such good intentions of being better at posting. But we all know how good intentions work...

I have had an amazing summer. This year I have had the most time off that I have ever had... Summer school ended on Aug 1st and I have been enjoying every second of freedom that I could during this time. My pocketbook doesn't exactly agree with all the time off... but after all these years it was really nice to have a whole 4 weeks off. I did pick up some extra days at my other job, but they sure didn't interfere with doing a whole lot of this:

• Summer is almost over, and I have yet to get into my classroom. Just the thought of it makes me nauseous. When I first went there back in June to deliver my stuff, the girl moving out had not begun. It was a mess... a huge mess. She emailed me two days ago to say she has finally finished. So I am heading there tomorrow to start the daunting task of organizing the gagillion boxes that I dropped there, along with the bagillion boxes of stuff that i ordered and *hope* was delivered by now. uggghhhhhhh. I am so not ready for that task. So not ready for this summer to be coming to a close. I plan to go tomorrow and Thursday, then next tuesday and wednesday. We start Thursday with inservices. The kids start the 6th. To say i'm nervous about this whole new job is an understatement. If I can just get through the 1st month, I'll be golden... but I am certainly dreading September!
  
  
• My birthday week was fabulous! It started with a day in the city with my mom and some friends. We went to see Mar.y P.oppins and had dinner. It was a FABULOUS show. The scenery, the choreography, and the cast was just amazing. I just love our girl days in the city... its become a couple of times a year tradition! My weekend continued with a get-together at my bff's house, a fabulous dinner with my parents and another fabulous day & dinner with my other bff. My parents gifted me a pretty awesome present also... I've finally entered the world of large flat screen TV's (omg... I had no idea how terrible the picture on my old TV was until i started watching this one!) and the piece of furniture we found to put it on just makes me smile. It's gorgeous... I had a fabulous birthday with all of the people I love!!!
  

• Today we had an earthquake... what's that all about. That was one of the things I was more than happen to leave behind when we moved back here from California. Me.no.like. the earth shaking under my feet. It sure did light up FB for a good hr afterwards... that kind of stuff just doesn't happen here. So it was weird to say the least. Right now the biggest thing on our radar is the impending hurricane coming this sunday... Mother n@ture has not been kind to us here on the east coast in the last two years... interesting, to say the least.
  
  
• I gave myself a back-to-school make-over today. I got rid of my highlights and went back to a nice dark, chocolaty brown. I love it! And i'm letting my hair grow out... for the time being. I'm sure at some point I'll hate it and cut it all off again, it's only a matter of time!
  
  
•  I have some fertility tests tomorrow and the really yucky HS.G on Monday. not looking forward to that.. my anxiety is at an all time high. A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do... right?

I think that's about it... for now anyways.
