A little bit less of me!

the days are just flying by...

Have I mentioned that I love my job? hehe... I know your probably getting sick of hearing it. But I really have not been this happy in years. Who wouldn't love eight kids jumping off the bus each morning and running towards at you full speed to hug you, with arms flailing, yelling "i'm here Ms. K, i'm here at school!" their enthusiasm at the point of seeing me is nothing short of heart filling joy. So in an effort to start documenting my first year in this new class I will begin telling you about my kids.

I'll start with the boss man. He will probably by far encompass the majority of my posts, and he does the majority of my day. Boss man has downs syndrome, which feels redundant to tell you that. They are typically pretty bossy. and freaking adorable at the same time. It's hard to ever be mad at that cute charming little guy. And man does he work the charm. He could give lessons to grown men on how to charm a woman! He is probably also the most capable and intelligent kid in my room. But to get him to show that is hard work... cause  if he did, he wouldn't garner the attention that he so greatly wants from everyone. He is always the first to raise his hand to contribute, but then likes to hem and haw over the information he is ready to give. He likes the dramatic pause and all... And god forbid if I attempt to continue talking when he is not finished writing the previous answer. I get the "hand in the face" sign and a whole lot of "wait K, wait, wait.... " all with a devilish grin on his face while he's trying to control the situation. When doing any type of seat work I always get the "sit K, sit... while he's patting the empty chair next to him for me to sit on. He also loves to torture the other kids. He is famous for walking over to someone, putting "paws" up in the air and roaring at them, with a smile on his face no less. To which the response is always "Ms. K, boss man is scaring me". I always give him the look of "really, boss man?" to which he responds with an equal look of "really, Ms. K?". And he totally gets sarcasm. at the age of 9. When he doesn't get what he wants he will yell very loudly "but Ms. K, I loooooooovvvvvvveeeee yooooooouuuuuuu." as if that would work. (it does, sometimes!) In trying to teach them appropriate forms of affection in school, I have resorted to high fives. But this not being good enough for boss man, he has come up with his own form in which he will come over and touch my nose very gently with his finger. swoon..... I can't take that one away from him. not yet, anyways. Boss man was also born with anal atresia. So he has accidents, a lot. Even with the rigorous bathroom schedule i have him on, he just doesn't know when it's coming. And it makes me sad, because it makes him sad.

I just adore the boss man.... he is definitely one of a kind.

Next up.... nice girl.

~Have a lovely weekend
