This seems to be the never ending month. I guess because I've been waiting SOOOOO very long for this home study appointment which is FINALLY next week. I can turn over all my stuff to the SW and wait for her report to be written so I can drive to it Trenton with my I600A. I will take it myself because the timeframe for people in NJ who have done this seems to be about 3 weeks to get the I-171H back. I can't wait for that folder to be out of my hands. I just stare at it everyday, I can't wait for it to be done.
Today at work I went to the computer room during my lunch. I have done this everyday for the last 9 years that I have been in this building. For 42min I have peace and sanity. I get on the internet, check my email, read your blogs, do some shopping, and basically feel refreshed, in touch with the outside world and ready to go back to my students for the remainder of the day. Well that all ended today. I signed on to the computer typed in my email address and BAM.... Blocked by websense. The wonderful internet filter the ten year old computer geek with a god complex has decided to use to moniter and block anything and everything we try to look at on the internet. I could not get my email, read your blogs, get on ebay or even check into my online banking service. I could feel my blood pressure rising as I tried each one and kept getting the same screen.. THIS SITE HAS BEEN BLOCKED BY WEBSENSE. I was seriously at the point of picking up the computer and throwing it out the window. I had never been so angry. I immediately marched myself down to the technology teachers room and started screaming at him. Felt a little bad... because he also has the same anger and frustration.. but needed to vent to someone I felt had some pull in this department. To no avail.. I have been informed that I am left with socializing with my emotionally disturbed students, (they are classified that, I'm not just being mean!) and NO connection to the outside world EVER AGAIN.
AND WHERE THE H>>> ARE THE REFERRALS AND TA'S... Tamara you have the patience of a saint. I would be camped outside the SW house until she produced the file. I will be praying for ya this weekend for an early Monday phone call. I won't of course be able to even check in bloggy world until I get home from work.. Damn 10yr old
As for now.... I start my new "extra" job tomorrow, so no more lazy weekend mornings in my jammies for me!!!

We've got something similar at my school. I can check email, if I want to, but it can be seen by the IT people - no thanks. I can check RQ, but nothing on blogspot.com
That leaves me stuck in the lunchroom with too many twenty-something, newbie teachers who talk too loud and swear too much. Yuck!
I hate it when they block things at work. I work nights so I have a lot of time to play. I am always reading blogs at 2 AM. I hope things go great with your homestudy. Don't sweat it!!! You will be great!!
That stinks! With your busy schedule, your going to forget all about the wait time. (Wouldn't that be nice?)

I have the same problem at work. I can see my e-mail but almost everything else is filtered so no blogs.
Good luck with the second job. I've found that mine keeps me busy enough that the time during this wait seems to be moving right along so far...
I sooo understand! I knew blogs and email were out, but then they found out about RQ!!! BLOCKED. And I only use it at lunch...If they find out about CCAA site I am screwed! My techie brother says knowledgable IT people have a way around it (behind firewalls, etc.) but I couldn't even begin to figure it out. Ask me again when it is time for my referral!!
Love that your dossier is moving along quite nicely! If you had no glitches, it wouldn't be IA, right?!=)I'm up for my Homestudy update this month...
