Email from CNN

**** UPDATE
Well, Paula definitely seemed quite nervous, more serious about the topic and stumbled over her words on more than one occasion.... She accepted no responsibility and tried as if to distance herself from the entire episode on Friday. I don't think she was prepared for such a backlash from Friday's show.. Roland Martin tried to stand his ground, refused to admit his error, and still sounded like a jack*ss. At least Cenk Uygur admitted he was wrong. David Youtz (FCC) seemed nervous, but spoke well and got the point across.

Thats all I'm going to say about it. It's done, I'm not satisified with the result, it was disappointing at best. They really screwed up their motto as "The Trusted News Source" Ha!

This is the email I received from CNN today... In the least I hope to hear a public apology from Paula Zahn. At most I hope that she will become more educated from the "appropriate" guests she will have on tonight's segment.

Thanks very much for your email concerning the segment “China Tightens Foreign Adoption Regulations” that aired on Paula Zahn Now on Friday, January 5th. We value your feedback and want to make sure you have the information about our upcoming continued reports on this subject.

Tonight’s Paula Zahn NOW will again address the new rules for foreign adoptions of Chinese children. The coverage will include a new report by CNN’s John Vause in Beijing , China . Paula will be joined by a number of guests to discuss the issue, including David Youtz, President of the Greater NY Chapter of “Families With Children From China”, and Ginny Gong, President of the “Organization of Chinese Americans”.

Again, thank you for taking the time to express your opinion, and please tune in for this follow up report.

Regards,

I agree with you 100%. Paula accepted no responsibility and did everything possible to push blame on her fellow panelists.
There was no real discussion of why parents are choosing IA as opposed to domestic adoption. I certainly do not discrimate against the children of my own country. I want a process that will bring a beautiful daughter into my life who someone will not try to take back 6 months later.
The race issue is ridiculous. I am a while woman adopting an asian baby. I believe that that would make her a different race and I couldn't be happier.

Hello,
My name is Heather and my husband and I are paperchasing in Philadelphia. I found your blog through Kimmy's (Olivia's Mom). It looks like we are exactly in the same place in this. We are also waiting for our I 797 (I think it is I 171H in NJ but switched to I 797 in PA). Anywho, drop me an email, and let me know where you are in NJ. It would be nice to know someone local at the same stage as me. My email is lilyspickle@yahoo.com and my blog is www.oliviapeters.blogspot.com
Best of luck and I will keep my fingers crossed for your I 171H.

Hey Kristen...
feeling pretty disappointed myself, I really expected an apology from Ms. Zahn. Pretty pathetic, huh? At lease there were some experts on the show this time.

I guess I always expect an apology, or at least some admittance of causing offense. A major talk show host here started a program with something like
'Did you hear the news, you can now order a black kid, white one or yellow one from a catalogue, its the latest new accessory like a handbag' I wrote a letter about racism, and adoption and got an email from the producer saying that the host had the right to crack jokes and he was sorry I couldn't see the humour. I COULDN'T SEE THE HUMOUR??????
