I just looked up at my ticker and realized.... YUCK, why is this taking so darn long. I have ONE piece of paper that I need to complete this whole kit n kaboodle... but it seems so unreasonably long... I need to stay away from the message boards where I continue to read about people paperchasing in a month's time... it just makes me sad to see people jump right ahead of me.... :o(
Just having a bad week... this too shall pass.

Who paperchases in a month? I was supposed to start last February, but hit a glitch with the first home study agency, so really didn't get started until March after I switched home study agencies. Was able to complete the home study relatively quickly, but then waited on USBICS for six weeks or so. Then was DTC at the end of June. I can't imagine anyone completing it in less time than that! What's their secret? Who are these people?
What are you waiting on now? The I171-H? That is the worst wait of the whole paperchase! If you think it's taking too long have your agency call the USBICS and see what the hold up is. Sometimes that gets them to move it along.
Hang in there! You're going to make it!
Cheer up Charlie!
It will be OK. We will both make it through this...and it is taking so long because your Julia and my Olivia wouldn't be ready any earlier...just keep telling yourself that.
It *shall* pass so hang in there! The paper has gotta come soon and a celebration will ensue! (Did that make any sense?!)
Yes, it will. Sometimes it doesn't matter within a few weeks because some DTC before you can be LID after you. Weird, but true.
You'll make it. I was held up on that one piece of paper too. Drat! You'd think it would have gilt edges or something...then it comes and it's just a piece of paper. Ah well, I'll be hoping to hear that you are DTC soon.
I hope next week is better. have you read my last couple of post. They were kind of encouraging to me.
You'll make it! Hang in there...waiting for the paperwork is the worst, but it'll all come together for you and before you know it you will be DTC!
Hang in there Kristen... all this time I was confused and thought you were LID already. It took me 6 months to get it all together the first time. Are you only waiting on USCIS? Whatever that tail end is, hope it comes through soon!!
Kris
Oh dearest Kristen, I am sorry you are having a tough time, it must be so so frustrating, especially if you are waiting on someone else's action!
Know that I am thinking of you and saying prayers each and every day. And my arms are stretching from all the way across the ocean to give you a GREAT BIG HUG!!!!!!
I feel that way when I see folks with my lid or after mine getting their "expidited" referrals.....ugh.
Thanks for all your kind words... I hate when I get in these moods... I'm having a rough couple of weeks at work.. and my melancholy mood has carried over into the rest of my day.... sorry for the "poor me" post!!
And yes Joannah, (to my utter shock).. their are people who received singles spots in mid December that are being expedited and are actually finished... guess it's an agency thing and mine is in no particular rush!! neither is the Philadelphia USCIS!!!
Hoping you get that ONE piece of paper soon (how about tomorrow?).
Hope your week gets better.
Yes!! I am finally home. It feels so good to have been missed. :) And I am going to sit down with some hot cocoa in a few and do my TAG!!
You are one of my favorite blogs. Hang in there girl! I secretly cheer for you every day!
Truthfully, my 171-H came in 10 days. My agency was floored. Miracles can happen.
Our paper chase was over 6 months. It's a long haul, but it's a relief when it's done!
P.S. email me or call me when you have time, I'll be in NJ in a few weeks and want to see you! :)
Hey there neighbor! We got our I171-H in just about 4 weeks, but our entire paperchase took 7 months! Hardly anyone does it in under 4, and the average I've seen is 6, so don't fret sister! We can alwasy go have margaritas while we wait for your final piece of paper ;) (not kidding!)
Hang in there - it has to come soon. I keep checking in on you to see if your I-171H has arrived yet b/c I have it in my head that if yours arrivies then ours will too. (I realize that we live in completely different states - not sure if that matters or not - but it helps me with the wait.)
I swear our neighbors think I'm nuts b/c every night when I get home I race to the mailbox in search of that envelope and when it isn't there I slam the lid shut, throw a small temper tantrum and trudge back up the driveway all in a dither. I think when it does finally show up that I might sit down right in there in the street and cry tears of joy :-)
"Soon" - just keep telling yourself that - it will be here soon!
Have a great night!!!!
Don't feel bad. Our paperchase took a year. Longest year of my life. It'll happen!
