Bullet style!
- I finally uploaded my pics from Disney... they are at the bottom. There was a lot of them... I loved playing around with my new point and shoot... still don't fully know how to use all the lovely features.. but getting there.
- Today I got my photo scrapbook in the mail from our Hyco Lake trip... Titled "Summer Sisters" It's gorgeous. I love that T decided to create a book series of our get-togethers, this being the first addition. I think!! I know someone toyed with the idea of putting together one from previous years, which was during their, but still mine, wait. I dunno. But regardless, these friendships we have forged are nothing short of beautiful and this is the beginning of a tradition that we will all create for our daughters. A beautiful circle of friends, with similar beginnings. Here are a few pages to gaze at...
- I have to add... not out of vanity... I'm truly not a vain person, but I look positively ghastly in these photos... I was really feeling the girls only, no makeup, no hair-done, grunge look. Not my best, but I love every bit of it anyway. Next summer I'll be sure to "primp" a little before the cameras come out!!
- I am relishing in every thought of the days to come when I will leave my current teaching position. I probably shouldn't act so overjoyed at work when I mention it though huh...
- Irrelevant... but seriously, my dad calls me no less than twice a day to sing the "pant's on the gr@und" song from AI. The next time I see him... I will punch him... i'm just sayin.
- Sad, but want to mention it... The morning before my Nan's funeral, the funeral parlor called to apologize for a horrible mistake. The dress, My Nan's absolute favorite dress, that we brought over for her to wear was mistakenly cut down the front, and no longer usable. We had to bring a new outfit. My mom found the one that she had been originally looking for anyway, and brought it over. My mom asked for the ruined dress back. She's going to make a new dress for Julia to wear home from China.... My Julia will have a little of my Nanie Julia with her on the hardest day of her life... I think my Nan made that happen, and spoke to my mom. I fully believe that, and it makes me smile.
- I have my next TWO... yes TWO... get-away weekends planned. If you haven't noticed, I'm a girl that likes to "get-away"!! I will be going for a girls weekend in AC (okay, not getting too far away, but I digress...) and a longer weekend in the Outer B@nks... As always, i.cannot.wait... My philosophy... "get-Away" as much as humanly possible... it makes life much more fun to live during the in-between.
- Taking suggestions... I have this "favorite people" board of sorts in my kitchen...
- Now, mind you there are already layers of photo's on this board that you cannot even see... and I have about 30 new ones to add from this year alone. I don't physically have the wall space where they are to add more... but I want to have the rest out. They make me happy. I like to see the years of the kids, and the friends, as they grow or change... but I need to find a better way. I'm at a loss.... HELP!
That's all I got today.... so here's the Disney pic's as promised. Feel free to leave now... there's a lot, and I'm sure you have the exact same ones!!!
UPDATED... sorry if you missed them and actually wanted to see them! I deleted the slide shows... they were so huge and made the blog run really slow. if your my FB friend you can see them there! if your not and want to be... let me know!

Ha! I thought the same thing when I saw my pics in the book...no make-up I'm not sure I even showered!!!
For the record I am totally vain and will be sporting all the mabelline possible in the next summer sisters book!!
I think that it is perfect that Julia will be wearing a special dress from her namesake:)
Ok girls, it was a lake house...a trip where no makeup was needed. I can't remember if I even washed my hair...??? Anyhoo, that's what makes it so cozy, no performance needed=0) & you don't look ghastly!
Tha pants on the ground song...yeah.
The dress...well, that just made my heart smile. What a beautiful thing to do.
Love the book idea... and the dress for Julia will be amazing..
looks like you had a great time on your trip and will have on your next few trips..
have a great weekend..
hugs..
Yup,bet your Nan knew little Julia and you needed the dress more. =)
So many pics indeed! I even see E up there! Can't wait to add Julia's cards to my collection. Let me know how you end up displaying/storing them all. Disney looks awesome!
I'm not far from the Outer Banks... I'm just sayin'.... =)
Great to have you 'back'! The dress - how absolutely lovely! The summer sisters ... exquisite idea. Life is about making memories ... for ourselves and our children. Get Aways ... keep enjoying them (read previous sentence again!) and don't think they stop when Julia arrives ... she will be a 'seasoned' traveller herself by the time you get home and will be good to go. Packing her up and showing her your world will make her all the more resilient. As for the photos ... so touched to see Cadence there ... I'm thinking an old fashioned photo album ... you simply can't keep them all out ... well maybe a few (hint, hint!).
Great Disney pics ... can't wait to take our daughter ... someday .....
Dude - at least you made the group pic...
I think you are beautiful even with my eyes closed... Can't wait to see all that beauty in person again :)
ps. you're beautiful. period.
i got teared up with a lump in my throat reading about the dress and how it will be passed on to your little girl. what a gift.
i have a sweatshirt (one of my mom's favorites) that along with the fabric from M-n-M's nanny's shirt will become the center of her quilt- God willing i ever get that thing done (don't have enough squishes yet!)...
