Dad Update...

An update on the update!!! Thank you once again for all of your kind comments. My dad is home from the hospital and doing great. I told him that with all these new parts, he should be good for the next 50 or so years!!! And my Aunt's Cath procedure went well also... the Dr. was happy to report there are no blockages. So for now, I've seen enough of the inside of hospitals for quite some time...

On Tuesday, it will be back to the hospital for my dad. He will be having two stints placed into arteries on the left side of his heart. Now these were not the culprits of the heart attack, that was due to many blockages throughout his right coronary artery. They wanted him to recover some from that procedure before taking care of these. But not with too much time elapsed, because these left side arteries are pretty blocked themselves. So back to the hospital we go... At least this time with some preparation and emotional readiness.

And too add to it... my dad's younger sister J (the one that got married last Valentines day) will be going into a different hospital on Friday to be catheterized. Seems, she has two leaky heart valves, and upon seeing her cardiologist last week and explaining the circumstances of my father's heart attack and their father (whom died at the age of 61 from a massive heart attack), he wants to be pro-active and check her out. She neglected to tell any of us that she had also been experiencing some chest pains over the last year.

So I guess I know what I need to be wary of in the future... and pro-active about now. Ahhh... genetics, such lovely gifts passed down through generations.

Keep us in your thoughts... it will be another exhausting week ahead.

Of course I'll be praying for your dad (and mine!) this week Kristen, as well as the rest of your family. I need to add to my list of 2008 resolutions "Heart Healthy in 2008!"

My FIL had two stints put into his heart 2 years ago and he is doing just great. We were all a little nervous, but he's never been better.
