To read this post... seriously. It's ridiculous but I've been so crabby about it that I will vent.. cause it's my blog... blah, blah, blah.....
Is anyone else as annoyed with the incompetence of weathermen/women as I am???? Sunday night we were TOLD numerous times of this impending "WINTER STORM", "BIG NOR-EASTER" that we were going to get... first it was 1-3 inches, then 2-4 inches... watch out... now it's 3-5. Messy Commute, called all state and city employees off of vacation and personal time to come to work to prepare for the storm...
I even called a local weatherman friend... who usually tells me... "No Kristen, you will have to go to work tomorrow" to confirm... He promised it would snow... SO, I "prepared", watched the big G*iants game... I'm not a G fan (have to put in that disclaimer)... But I love a good game anyway, Stayed up way too late, had too many cocktails.... and wouldn't ya know it.
IT ONLY RAINED. No phone call that school was closed, no delayed opening, NADDA. Needless to say, I was very grumpy Monday morning. What-ever, I'm over it.
Then this morning, after what was supposed to be a "COLD AND DRY" night, I wake up to inches of snow.... at my house though, so I still had to go to work. But, come-on, can't you get it right just once????
Today's forecast was for... partly sunny, partly cloudy, chance of flurries. COULD THEY BE ANYMORE VAGUE????
I guess I'm just jealous. I would love to have a job where there is 0% accountability.

I still have a sense of humor at least, and obviously nothing earth shattering to worry about.. That's a step in the right direction!! I'm not normally this crabby.. keep in mind, I work seven days a week, and a day off was all too enticing and necessary!!! Sometimes I think teachers are worse than the students with an impending snow day on the horizon!!!

The weather gods have been screwing with you, my dear.
I too am way too sick of the weathermen/women! We are told to get ready for rain everyother day, but all we get is freezing cold and sunny skies! I JUST WANT IT TO RAIN!!!

I get so stinkin annoyed with the weather arses!! Tonite for instance they said ice after midnight....I'm out...its 8:00 - its freakin snowing like hell. Hate em.
I had a student several years ago ~ Darnell. He rarely ever said two words. He was a tough street kid (this was when I lived in Chicago) who wanted to be any where but in school. One day we were having a conversation about whether or not it would snow. Suddenly Darnell said, "Weathermean do nothin' but lie."
I will never forget that comment. The entire class became stone silent. It was also the beginning of a good relationship between Darnell and I.
