Pour me another please....

Too add some "Fun" to my never-ending week....
Three young adult males decided it would be fun to call a bomb threat into my school.

So in this frigid weather we had to evacuate 700 children, stand outside for 45 minutes to then march them down the road to a nearby school for the next 3.5 hours till we could hand each one over to their parents. FUN STUFF!!!

At least the idiots were not smart enough to block the number from where they called, and the pizza shop owner (that's where the call was made from) was able to give full descriptions to the police.

But let me tell ya, after the he##ish week I had with my boys.... They were unbelievably well behaved during the whole event. They never left my side, they were quiet the first time I asked, and they even helped out when I was trying to get some control over the rest of the uncontrolled situation. I was never so proud!!!!

They don't know it yet, but tomorrow I will be treating them to some take-out for lunch!!

AND.... tomorrow I will be going to the airport to welcome home Jane, Erik & Maddie from China... YAY, can't wait!!

~Happy Friday All!! :o)

Why do short weeks seem so much longer?~!?!?!

I hate bomb threats! We had one a few weeks ago. Not fun. One year we had so many that the pricipal started making us make up the minutes. That put an end to the really quickly. We don't get to go home.

Huge Congrats to you Boys! People are always amazed that our kids are better behaved than the reg. ed. kids. I think it is because we can build a relationship. Just my theory.

HUGS!!!

I saw your comment on the Moose website and clicked my way here. I have to tell you, I'm so envious that you'll be there to welcome Maddie. Please tell me you're taking a camera.

I can so empathize. We have already been on lock down 5 times this year for a variety of reasons...student brought gun to school (he didn't..others made it up to get him in trouble and the latest the father of a student is stalking one of our teachers). Just can't believe it. Each week is a new adventure in education. Here is Friday night and adult beverages!
