Okay, so I haven't mentioned it so I'll update briefly.
The HIL had some major problems come out during the inspection. Keep in mind that i live at the shore and these are normal things, (water damage in the crawl space) but alas, things that needed to be dealt with. I have been going over inspection reports, deciding what I can progress with happily and have heard from the sellers lawyers that they are willing to meet with all my "demands" regarding what I want fixed. The repairs to the water damage will be completely replaced, I will have the opportunity to reinspect, and then decide to move forward or not. It has been a rocky couple of weeks (the house was in the first neighborhood to be evacuated during the fire, so that delayed things a bit!!) But things seem to be getting back on track. The closing will not be as soon as was scheduled, but since I have no timeline, that is just fine with me. I'm in no rush to move as it is not a necessary thing for me. So I sit buried in paperwork once again, while relishing in the excitement of a new "special someone". Jeesh things really happen in three's huh!! Baby, house, someone special.... So much to do, so little time.
and 21 days left of school (week days that is). THANK GOD!! I haven't posted much about work in awhile because it has been unbelievable crazy. New kids, lost kids, gearing up for an influx next year, trying to come to grips with the loss of the child who started this whole journey (he's graduating). I'm not dealing well with this, neither is he. So I have been kind of ambivalent about work in general. I can't wait for the end of this year, but at the same time, I'm brought to tears every time I think of how he's not handling it and how I feel like I haven't prepared him well enough for the changes that are about to come. I actually think he's trying to fail to stay. It breaks every piece of my heart. okay I have to stop talking about it.
The update on the fire today is that it is 100% contained, but not out yet! Kind of an oxymoron, if you ask me!! They say it should be out completely within the week and the entity responsible is paying for ALL damages to homes and such.
Okay, that wasn't short or sweet, sorry!!!
Thats all for now. Have a good week!!

I was just about to send out the mounties to find out how you've been, girl! BTW - Keep August 18th open - you're coming to my house for a waiting families BBQ!
I have a senior who seems to be doing everything in his power to fail this last quarter. I have set up plan after plan for him, and he continues to sabtage himself. I honestly think he doesn't want to graduate. I hate this, because I never know the right thing to do.
How exciting to hear there is a new special someone! Is this the real estate guy? What fun!
I hope the house works out for you! Keep us posted.
I'm glad to know you are experiencing good things! I can't wait to hear more about your someone special. :-)
Sounds good! I hope that the house works out as far as repairs go. School will be out soon.
A good week to you too.
Glad the fire is 'contained'. I'm with you, 'out' sounds a lot better.
Hi Kristen --
My goodness you have a lot going on. I really hope that everything works out with the house. I'm so glad to hear that the fire is contained and will be out soon. How exciting that you have a "someone special" - can't wait to learn more.
Have a wonderful rest of the week!
Glad to hear from you and good news (it seems) about the fire being contained...and SUPER good news about your "someone special" - I LOVE IT! Keep us posted...
Sending best wishes for the house, the "special someone"!! Can't wait to hear more when you're ready to share.

It's hard, isn't it, when the euphoria from finding "THE" house has to be disrupted with things like inspections and such. I'm glad to hear that things may work out though and you'll get another opportunity to decide...also glad to hear about the "special someone" in your life. Everyone needs one of those ;o)
Also, having a daughter in special ed classes and having worked in the schools, I know that most teachers in Special Ed are pretty amazing individuals. Your kids are lucky to have you. Hoping that your end of the year goes well and your kids can find a way to move forward.
My kids have been counting down the days til summer. Teachers must really love the countdown!
Anxious to hear more about the special someone....
