Incredibly, No One Hurt When Jet Crashes in Hudson River
NEW YORK - A US Airways jetliner crashed into the frigid Hudson River on Thursday afternoon after a collision with a flock of birds disabled both its engines, sending more than 150 passengers and crew members scrambling onto rescue boats, authorities say.

The FAA (web | news) reports all passengers and crew on US Airways Flight 1549 are off the plane and safe. No deaths or serious injuries were immediately reported.

Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Laura Brown said Flight 1549 had just taken off from LaGuardia Airport en route to Charlotte, N.C., when the crash occurred in the river near 48th Street in midtown Manhattan.

The plane, an Airbus 320, took off at 3:26 p.m. and went down minutes later, Brown said.

So I've got the TV news on watching the rescue that I listened to my whole way home from work... and I'm searching the internet frantically about this next part...

And then I came home to read this: (Copied from the RQ website)

There is also a rumor about a cut off date, but it’s only coming from one place and it’s pretty fantastic at this point. If true then it would be better than any of the columns on my projections table. Even better than the good case scenario from back in 2006. I think we’ll put that one at an R1 at this point.

That being said, I am hearing from multiple places that the general atmosphere at CCAA is better than it has been in a long time, and that there is hope that things may not be so dismal in the near future. I know we’ve all heard the “things will speed up” thing too many times to believe it, me included. This actually feels a bit different from those rumors, but I’m still hesitant to give it much weight. I think at this point we’ve been burned too many times and it will take it actually happening for us to believe it. I’ve been receiving this information for a few weeks now from various sources, and finally received it from enough sources to decide it’s worth putting out. I’m very hesitant to believe it, but I’m here to report rumors, not to decide which rumors to report. So, I’m reporting it. As for a rating… while it’s coming from enough places to give it an R3, I’m still going to give it an R2. I also want to stress at this point that I don’t think this rumor has enough teeth for anyone to be making decisions off of it.

So I've been reading as many places as I can and the actual rumor points to a cut off of March 23rd... THATS 23 FREAKING DAYS OF MATCHES!!!!

That is more than any month since I started this process....

So to say that this has been an eventful day is an understatement. I am freaking out for so many of my friends that would be included in this batch if it proves to be true... remember, I'm just talking about a rumor... but it's a really good one worth talking about!

I'm sitting on the edge with you all waiting for some confirmation of this upswing to be true... oh I hope and pray that this is true.... hope, hope, hope.... thats all we can do!!!

What???? 23 days? Wow, maybe it is because last year has ended and China came in number 2 for adoptions behind Guatemala instead of number 1 for the first time in many years. Maybe they will loosen up a little now.

Amazed and happy that all survived the crash.

As for the increase in matches - bring it on. I figured things would pick up once I got outta line ;0)
